Premiere of the Abarth 500e

Fiat now presents a performance version of the 500e.

In rolls the Abarth 500e, which is inside with much more power and a cocky design.

This first electric Abarth can also give off “cool engine sounds” for those who now want that.

As previously promised, Fiat’s performance brand Abarth has now come up with a version of the 500e electric car.

The launch model is called the Scorpionissima and it is of course a sportier model which, in some slightly controversial ways, should resemble a normal Abarth even if it runs on electricity.

The Abarth 500e has an output of 155 horsepower and 235 Nm of torque. It should do 0-100 km/h in seven seconds flat. This to compare with the regular 500e, which with its 116 horses and 22 Nm of torque achieves 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. So yes, definitely sportier.

The battery itself is the same as in the Fiat 500e, which thus has a capacity of 42 kWh. It should, according to still unverified information, travel 32 miles on one charge and fast charging takes place with 87 kW.

Sounds like an Abarth – with fake sounds

Still, this scorpion is an eye-catching model. It has a slightly aggressive style with paint colors whose names can stand for the description: “Acid green” and “poison blue”.

“The new Scorpio transforms energy into emotions, high technology into adrenaline and durability into performance”, as Abarth themselves write on their website.

One step in this is a function that is not usually very appreciated by everyone. We are of course talking about fake engine sounds (you can listen to the sound yourself here).

With the new sound generator, the Abarth 500e will roar like a classic Abarth. But it is possible to turn off this function.

Made in 1949 copies

The launch version is thus called the Scorpionissima and it will only be produced in 1949 copies, as a tribute to Abarth’s year of birth
