Success for Volkswagen ID

500,000 cars in Volkswagen’s ID. series have been delivered since the first launch just over two years ago.

This means that the Germans reached their milestone a year earlier than planned.

– We want to make Volkswagen the most sought-after brand for sustainable free movement, says Imelda Labbé, board member at Volkswagen.

Volkswagen ID is a popular series with Swedes. The ID.4 is actually the most popular electric car of them all this year.

So far, over 6,200 Volkswagen ID.4s have been registered in Sweden in 2022. This makes it the best-selling electric car in the country, followed by the Kia Niro (5,577 registrations) and the Tesla Model Y (4,929).

There have also been successes on a global level. Volkswagen can today state that 500,000 copies of the electric ID. models have now been delivered worldwide since the first ID.3 reached customers in October 2020 (23,000 of these are in Sweden).

The Germans have thereby reached their goal of half a million delivered IDs a year faster than expected.

135,000 orders

At the same time, many cars are in the order books.

135,000, more precisely.

cars that our customers have ordered as quickly as possible. However, due to the persistent pressure situation regarding the supply of components, we have to constantly adjust production, says Imelda Labbé, board member at Volkswagen responsible for sales, marketing and service market, in a press release.

ID. Buzz and Aero B

Now, at the end of 2023, the “people’s bus” stands ID. Buzz and the truck version ID. Buzz Cargo on tour. Next year then awaits the premiere of the sedan model Aero B, which will later be followed by a combi version. In addition, an update is awaited on the ID.3, which was incidentally the 14th most newly registered electric car in Sweden in 2022.

– We are on the right track with our investment in electric mobility and our success story continues. Our focus remains unchanged – we want to make Volkswagen the most desirable brand for sustainable free movement, says Imelda Labbé.
