Now Polestar 3 is here

Now Polestar’s first SUV has finally been launched in the form of the new Polestar 3. It has dual electric motors that deliver a total of 360 kW and a battery of 111 kWh.

After months of various revelations about the model, the Polestar 3 has finally been launched. According to Polestar , Scandinavian minimalism is combined with the main features of an SUV and results in an SUV for the electric age. It is the company’s first SUV and first car planned to be manufactured on two continents.

Polestar 3 has a new aerodynamic profile where the focus has been on maintaining the shape of an SUV, but at the same time having a powerful presence on the road. A front aerodynamic wing has been integrated into the front hood, and a similar wing into the rear spoiler as well as a blade at the rear.

The Polestar 3 has a dual-motor drivetrain with a majority of the power in the rear. The standard version delivers a total of 489 horsepower (360 kW) and 840 Nm. As an option, there is a performance package where the total output is instead 517 horsepower (380 kW) and 910 Nm.

Has a range of up to 61 miles according to WLTP

Adjustable one padel is included, but also electric torque vectoring via a double clutch on the rear axle. There is also a disconnect function on the rear electric motor, which means that the car can only be driven on the front electric motor to save energy in certain circumstances. Dual-chamber air suspension and advanced chassis control are standard.

Thanks to a battery pack of 111 kWh, the range is up to 61 miles according to WLTP. The lithium-ion battery is liquid-cooled and has a prismatic cell design in a protective aluminum casing with boron steel reinforcement. The Polestar 3 is also equipped with bidirectional charging.

Polestar gets a new centralized computing power (NVIDIA DRIVE) with new software from Volvo Cars. The computer acts as an AI brain and processes data from the car’s various sensors and cameras to enable safety functions for driver assistance and driver monitoring.

Costs from SEK 970,000 in Sweden

The materials used inside the Polestar 3 have been chosen for their durability properties, but at the same time aesthetics and a luxurious feel. It includes upholstery in mictrotech (materials made from renewable PVC and recycled PET, traceable leather and traceable wool.

All versions of the Polestar 3 include a full-size panoramic glass roof, LED lighting inside and out, retractable door handles that fold out when approaching the car and 21-inch aluminum wheels. Plus Package and Pilot Package are included as standard for the first model year and include, among other things, a Bower & Wilkins sound system with 3D Surround Sound, soft-closing doors, a head-up display and Pilot Assist.

At launch, the Polestar 3 Long range Dual Motor is available and costs from SEK 970,000 in Sweden. It can be ordered from yesterday.
