BMW M’s 50th anniversary continues in the form of the world premiere of the second generation BMW M2.
As you know, BMW M turns 50 this year and their celebrations continue. Last summer, a camouflaged BMW M2 was shown during its final testing . Now the second generation of the compact sports car BMW M2 has been launched.
The M2 takes chassis technology from both the BMW M3 and BMW M4 and should thus be extremely flexible in its handling. At the same time, the car has proportions and typical BMW M design features that make it look extra sporty and athletic.
The drivetrain consists of a three-liter six-cylinder engine with 460 horsepower and 560 Nm. The power to the rear wheels goes via a six-speed gearbox (manual available as an option). Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is completed in 4.1 seconds (4.3 with manual). Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but can be upgraded to 285 km/h with the M Drivers package.
Costs from SEK 759,000
As standard, M Traction Control is available in ten different stages. The rear axle also has an Active M Differential. The second generation M2 comes with 19-inch alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch at the rear. As an option, there are also tires that are optimized for track driving.
Other standard equipment is adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers, M servotronic steering, dynamic stability control, and powerful M brakes.
Launch will take place in April 2023 and the Swedish prices start from SEK 759,000
